While not native to the state, Jenni grew up in western North Carolina and is a proud graduate from UNC Chapel Hill. She has spent her career advocating for physicians and physician practices from the NCMS to the AMA and back, making a stop along the way in Atlanta to live in the wonderful world of Epic’s electronic health record. Jenni lives in Apex with her husband, Curtis, in their Tar Heel/Wolfpack house divided. She has two stepsons (Cory and Evan), a daughter (Anna) and a son (David).
 David Sousa
Attorney
For over 26 years, David Sousa worked as Chief Legal Officer at Curi (formerly Medical Mutual), most recently (through 4/25/2022). At Curi, he oversaw the Claims, Risk Management, Information Technology, Communications, Health Policy, Member Benefits and Human Resources functions. For six years he served as its COO. He led the company's Community and Advisory Boards in five states in its geographic footprint. Over his tenure with Curi he spoke to more than 10,000 healthcare providers throughout the U.S. on a myriad of topics pertaining to healthcare liability. He testified before legislative bodies and committees about, and wrote on, healthcare liability reform issues. He served as an advisor to the American Law Institute, in the revisions to the Restatement of Torts, 3rd Medical Liability section.
